Easter/ Conference weekend

We decorated eggs for the family egg hunt on Sat at Grandma and Grandpa's. I liked having a fun hunt without a candy overload! We used the eggs for "egg a log golden rod" afterward. I can see this being a tradition in the making :)
She is starting to LOVE the jumper.

"the youngest" are ready.
...set... Go!

We hid capri-suns and a few other fun snacks and toys
Baby Luke... prob the only moment of the day where he's NOT holding a big-time smile.
Annie ran out of room in her basket, so asked to borrow a laundry basket to hold all her loot.

DADDY's home!!! Easter morning.

There were so many fantastic talks this time!!! I loved the talk by wilford anderson about how you gotta hear "the music" to be able to really "do the dance"... Ok there were SOO many great ones that I feel a little bad singling that one out.
Easter baskets- they had to find where they were hidden. Fun :) We had the bunny and chick stuffed animal already, but I hid it away for a few months and I plan on letting them reappear for Easter every year for a little tradition :)

That night we had dinner at Dustin and Kathryn's and she did a neat symbolic Easter egg activity. So nice to spend time together!

I liked this a lot.

This is my latest thing I'm excited about:

power of moms podcasts... so inspiring! and...

I almost posted this a couple years ago, but never got around to it. So, while the intro is not "current"- I feel like this article (link below) is so great!

So Josh and I have been waking up earlier this year- and even though our girls have started to follow suit... I really enjoy/need the few quiet minutes in the morning to do the things I just don't get to during the day with a toddler and baby alongside. I try to let something I really enjoy- like blogging- be one of the things that gets me out of bed at 6:30- some of you reading might be thinking- woah 6:30 is sleeping in!- but for us- we woke up almost every morning around 8 for the last few years! Anyway,  today I just wanted to post this article:

Satan Steals your Motherhood

But even more... I like this whole blog and her book the child whisperer :) thought I'd mention that too. theCarolblog.com

This stage...

I thought I would describe a few moments of my mommy day today:

I'm in the kitchen, when Abby comes in asking for another band aid. She already has 3 (surprisingly ligitimate bandaids) on her arms right now. So I go to get the band aid. I notice Lila crying in the bouncer and she needs me to pick her up, and on my way to pick her up, I notice Kate climbing up to the laundry room counter. I go to get Kate and she's gone. I shake my head wondering how I could've gotten confused. "Where is kate?" I think to myself as I get Lila out of her bouncer.  I go back to the laundry room because I was sure I'd seen Kate climbing, and find her hiding in the laundry cubby. She's sippin' on my "Emergen-C" drink I had just made myself as a pick-me-up since I was totally craving a nap. About 20 minutes earlier I remember wondering if there was a reason that justified how tired I was feeling... Glad Lila sleeps well and we get good rest at night!

...And here's a phone photo dump:

Abby actually took this one!

5 bucks a piece at a yard sale for these horsies... best money ever spent. Here they are washing them.

We have the best babysitters! One of our favorites likes to leave a treat for them if they are good.

Lila's Blessing Day

Grammy mona getting in some snuggles before church
Daddy offered such a sweet blessing to baby Lila. The thing that stood out to me the most was that she would have a"perceptive spirit" which I think can be such a huge blessing for life. And I swear he paused after "and the name wich she will be known by on this earth will be Lila"..".Brooke... Woodbury". I got nervous for a sec thinking he was going to call her Lila Jean like we'd almost named her ;)
Such a sweet baby!

This was the best we could do... Love this crazy crew of ours...

We made it on time to 9 o clock church which was a first for us with our whole family! I tried to be all ready for the lunch so that I could stay at church for all 3 meetings, but it it didn't work out all that well. But we did have a yummy lunch though with ham n swiss sliders, spinach salad, my mom's potato salad, and an assortment of desserts! Lila slept through most of her lunch party, but Abby was especially excited about all the guests at our house, and we are grateful for all those that could come to be a part of her special day.
